Kar Yan Chong is a lawyer, feminist, and human rights advocate who delivers strategic and compassionate legal services with a human touch.
With experience in criminal and civil dispute resolution, she is recognised for her meticulous case preparation, persuasive advocacy, and steadfast commitment to achieving just outcomes for her clients.
She obtained her first-class law degree from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and completed her pupillage under the supervision of Messrs. Mah-Kamariyah & Philip Koh.
Following pupillage, she served at Messrs. YH Boo & Partners, gaining practical experience in litigation, advisory work, file management and client communications.
Beyond her private practice, Kar Yan has a strong background in policy, governance, and human rights engagement.
She remains active in civil society organisations and public-facing campaigns, believing that legal advocacy and grassroots action together strengthen access to justice.
Guided by the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), she is committed to providing welcoming and empowering legal services for clients from all walks of life.
She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Gender Studies at Universiti Malaya.
