Collin Arvind Andrew embarked on his legal journey following his admission as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2011, after completing his pupillage at the distinguished Chambers of Messrs Chooi & Co. under the mentorship of Mr. Louis Ambrose.
In the nascent stages of his career, Collin honed his legal acumen as a Legal Associate, benefiting greatly from the esteemed guidance of Datuk Wong Kian Kheong. This invaluable experience instilled in him not only a robust understanding of the law but also a set of principles that he holds dear in both his professional and personal life.
The establishment of ‘Collin’s Law Chambers’ in 2015 marked a significant milestone, with Collin at the helm as its principal. As an impassioned practitioner and ardent advocate of criminal justice,Collin finds fulfillment in trials and hearings across the nation’scourts.
Leveraging over a decade of experience in the litigation scene, Collin is well-recognized for his advocacy prowess, a reputation augmented by his innate teaching inclination. He is often at the forefront of the Bar Council Criminal and Civil Advocacy Training Course as a trainer, where he injects a dose of fun into the learning process, sharing invaluable courtroom advocacy tips that breathe life into the law, going beyond the confines of thick law textbooks.Collin has also been invited to judge various mooting competitions including KL Bar – Lincoln’s Inn Alumni Moot Court Competition and Brickfields Asia College (BAC) Annual Mooting Competition.
Collin firmly believes that nobody is born an advocate, rather the art of advocacy can be learnt and improved on.Beyond the courtroom’s confines, Collin embraces a profound sense of duty towards legal aid. His tenure as Chairman of the Bar Council Legal Aid Centre, KL, from 2017 to 2020 exemplifies his unwavering commitment to the cause. Collaborating with legal aid centers nationwide, Collin spearheads initiatives aimed at refining and expanding the scope of legal aid programs, ensuring access to justice
for all.
